Rakiyamine, the best thing that never was?

Post by rakiyamine on Sat Jul 16, 2016 8:19 am

I think this is where new people introduce themselves. I think.

BACKGROUND

I'm 14 years old and have nothing too interesting about me and two years ago I found the game N on stickpage. Played it sucked at it etc two years later find out that there's actually a version two to of N oh boy that's pretty neat. Fast forward again a month and i'm like oh there is multiplayer on this that's kinda neat but i never got on any leaderboards ha.

SKILL LEVEL

I can do chimneying and double jumps on bounce blocks and that's pretty much it. I can do fast things and stuff.

On a mapping standpoint I just learned how to get level data make ghost blocks test maps etc from this forum which is pretty neato. I'm making a generic level series so hopefully that helps me make actual creative maps.

HOW DID I GET MY NAME

I couldn't think of a name for my tauren paladin on World of Warcraft so did a random name and it was Rakiyamine which sounded pretty neat so I used it for pretty much everything

You can ask a question if you want

It's great that you joined us here! We love having new people.

Making generic maps is a great way to start mapping. That's how I started, and I'd like to think I've improved a lot over the years. Keep it up!

Hey man, welcome! Great to see some new people are getting into N, we could always use some more.

Like toaster said, making generic maps is a great way to get started. As you learn more about it and begin to use the tools given in many different ways, you'll see yourself start to make more creative and well constructed maps! Just keep working at it and you'll get there my friend. :)

Here's a relatively basic guide for level design that I suggest you take a look at, this covers some very essential things when making a map and should help you a bunch. It certainly helped me. :) http://n-game-v2.forumactif.org/t331-the-importance-of-function-form-a-general-guide-for-level-design
I'll see you around and I hope to see some awesome maps from you!

If you keep spouting maps, you'll eventually find your style and start to bust out some amazing work, I'm sure. That's how I got started, at least
