Hey w95559w, I am not sure I understand your method for choosing the dual match-ups. I think it should be the top highscore advancer versus the lowest highscore advancer, and so on. (1 v. 10; 2 v. 9; 3 v. 8 .... etc.) For example, since Btonios was the top scorer he should face THUNDER who had the lowest score that advanced.

Cashmoney1875, that system of assigning matches is effective if you want to preserve the top 5, as by placing the top ranking players against the bottom they're almost guaranteed to be knocked out. I think this system is fairer - most players have been matched with someone whose ranking differs from their own by around 3 places, and none more than 5. Details following, if anyone's interested:

Matchups and Difference Scores
8 vs 3 d=5

4 vs 2 d=2
1 vs 5 d=4

U283 got a bit of a raw deal if you consider the rankings from that map to be an accurate representation of skill, but otherwise I think it was well done.

im not sure I should have gotten through because I was just plain lucky, having scraped through round 1 being in last , and somehow getting through round 2 again in last -10th. But the only reason is many of the better players than me didn't know when the contest started/finished

Remember, as of fairness everything is based on random drawing, not based on score. I did alter a few to make it slightly fairer. If I'm to choose dual opponents base on score (i.e. First place vs Second place), then whoever proceed in this group will most likely win the competition for they are the best, because using this system other players will face a harder competition for later round.

And not to worry to all the loser, there's a second round.
